Partnerships

We work with diverse range of partners to achieve our vision of resilient communities in productive healthy landscapes.

National Landcare Program

Local Land Services is part of the network of regional organisations that act as delivery agents under the National Landcare Program.

The National Landcare Program is a nationwide effort to address problems such as:

  • loss of vegetation
  • soil degradation
  • the introduction of pest weeds and animals
  • changes in water quality and flows and
  • changes in fire regimes.

Since July 2014, Local Land Services has delivered regionally through the first phase of the program.

Landcare NSW

Local Land Services works in partnership with Landcare NSW to deliver strategically-aligned programs and actions to support the full potential of Landcare volunteers.

The two organisations signed a Memorandum of Understanding in September 2015 that strengthens the partnership for the benefit of communities and landscaped across NSW.

One of the key projects aligned to this partnership is the $15 million Local Landcare Coordinators Initiative, announced by NSW Minister for Primary Industries, Niall Blair in September 2015.

This four year project is designed to renew the government-community relationship and unlock the full potential of the thousands of volunteers in the Landcare Network. More than 60 part time coordinators have been employed throughout NSW.

Landcare Coordinators will help build and support Landcare and community networks across the state over three and a half years. The initiative is jointly managed by Local Land Services and Landcare NSW and facilitated by the Natural Resources Commission (NRC).

Department of Primary Industries

We work in partnership with the Department of Primary Industries (DPI) to deliver locally-relevant research to farmers and landholders.

Our officers work with DPI Industry Development Officers across NSW, including experts in agronomy, livestock, horticulture, irrigation, soils and climate, to ensure the latest industry knowledge and practices are delivered to customers.

Catchment Action NSW

Catchment  Action NSW is a NSW State Government natural resource management initiative. This funding supports our work to improve and maintain a healthy landscappe.

Local government

Local Land Services works in partnership with local councils to ensure best practice management of natural resources, including weed management and pest control in areas under council jurisdiction.

We provide guidelines, training and incentive programs and assists councils with weed and pest management plans.
