Community Small Grants Program 2017-18

Guidelines for Applicants

Hunter Local Land Services, through funding from the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program (NLP), Catchment Action (CA) NSW and Hunter Catchment Contributions levy (HCC), has funding available to support community groups in promoting and increasing knowledge and awareness of natural resource management (NRM), Aboriginal traditional land management practices, sustainable agriculture, biosecurity (plant and animal diseases, pests and weeds), and emergency management.

Program Objective

Support community groups to deliver a range of awareness raising and on-ground projects that will increase engagement and participation of the community in sustainable natural resource management.

30th June 2018 or- until all funding is allocated

Final date for completion of projects

31st August 2018

Funding Availability

Maximum $1,500 per project

There is $30,000 total available across the Hunter Local Land Services region

Eligibility Criteria

Maximum of  1 application per group/organisation

The group/organisation must have been in   operation for at least 6 months

Your organisation/ community group must either be incorporated OR auspiced by an organisation that is incorporated or has an ABN. Unincorporated groups can access financial assistance; however, a tax invoice from a supplier (e.g. caterer, guest speaker) must be issued for payment directly to Hunter LLS.

Your project must involve community organisations or local communities

Your project can seek funding of up to $1,500 for Community engagement and participation and or small-scale on-ground activities (see activities table below)

All Projects must be completed and a final report submitted prior to 31st August 2018

Ineligible Activity/ Criteria

Activities that have already been funded

Activities that are of personal or private benefit   e.g. Landscaping, administration activities and expenses

Your   organisation/group is subject to an Independent Commission Against Corruption   (ICAC), Local Land Services (LLS), Department of Primary Industries (DPI) or   other legal investigation

Activities   that do not fit within NRM, Aboriginal traditional land management, sustainable   agriculture, biosecurity (diseases, pests and weeds), and/or emergency management
