Board meeting - 17 November 2016
The eighteenth meeting of the Hunter Local Land Services (HLLS) Board was held in Scone.
Susan Hooke chaired the meeting. Board members in attendance were James Clark, Daryl Dutton, Tony Hegarty and Ted Laurie. An apology was received from Ron Campbell.
The Chair of the Board of Chairs held a confidential session with the HLLS Board to discuss current issues, future plans and possible changes to LLS prior to the Board meeting. Ron Campbell was in attendance for this session.
HLLS support staff were also present.
Long term organisation structure
The Board were briefed on the progress in developing a long-term Organisation Structure.
The Board discussed and provided feedback on the draft Hunter LLS Accommodation Strategy actions and analysis to ensure alignment with the state wide Accommodation Strategy.
Lower Hunter Estuary Program
The Board were briefed on the accommodation requirements and associated resources to transition Kooragang resources to highest priorities in the Hunter Estuary.
Emergency management operational plan
The Board were updated on the continuing program to build preparedness of Hunter LLS and local communities to respond to emergency animal disease and natural disasters.
2016/17 Grants program
The Board were provided with an update on the results of the Hunter LLS 2016/17 grants funding round.
The Board reviewed and noted the reports from the General Manager which included implementation progress and planned activities/issues across business areas of animal biosecurity and welfare, invasive species, natural resource management, agricultural extension and emergency management.
