Come join us for an evening all about birds! Learn how to identify different species and hear about the amazing migration journeys shorebirds undertake each year, with some species flying as far as northern Russia then back here to the mid coast. Learn about local research underway into the relationships between native and introduced birds. Plus find out how you can join local efforts to help save endangered species.
You will hear from:
- Dr Alan Stuart from the Hunter Bird Observers Club. Dr Stuart is well known for his studies on birds associated with estuaries, beaches and wetlands
- Dr Andrea Griffin from the University of Newcastle. Dr Griffin is a leading researcher in Zoology, and is introducing cutting edge radio tracking equipment in our region to understand bird movements and introduced bird species.
A light supper will be included.
